Pancho Balderas vs Santiago Arevalo

Boxing Daily Report from the Peru National Finals 2026,  taking place on 11/04/2026 from Lima, Peru:

The Lima venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Pancho Balderas (8 - 2) who hails from Lima, Peru and Santiago Arevalo(8(1) - 14(6)) from Lima, Peru.  

Round 1: 

Balderas finds the target with a stinging jab.

Balderas connects with an overhand right.  
Balderas steps to the outside and lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Balderas finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Arevalo steps inside and walks Balderas down, trapping him on the ropes.  Arevalo throws a right hook, but Balderas ties up his opponent.  Balderas is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Arevalo closes the distance and forces Balderas to retreat onto the ropes.  Balderas lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Balderas ties up his opponent.  Balderas hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Balderas lands a left hook.  
Arevalo sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Arevalo attempts to land a left hook, but Balderas sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.
