Pro Tournaments

The Pro Tournament screen is accessible from the Rankings menu.
From this screen you can look at existing tournaments or create one.

Creating a Tournament
Fill in the details - it is mostly self explanatory.
All tournaments must be given a name (up to 20 characters long), and must be based in a single country - optionally you can drill down to region and city.

You need to select how many rounds the fights will be.

If selecting 12 rounders, you can put titles on the line. This means that in every matchup, if a title can go on the line, it WILL go on the line. Location based restrictions are ignored for tournaments.  The fighters just need to qualify by being ranked in the top 15 (or top 25 for interalphabettys)

You can select knockout or group/knockout format. For knockout format, you can choose 4,8, or 16 participants.

Group format involves groups of 3 with fighters getting 2 fights each in the groups stage. For this format you can select 6 to 24 participants (so 2, 4 or 8 groups) with winners progressing to the knockout stages. In group fights, wins get 3pts and draws 1pt. If fighters are tied, then it goes to most stoppages. If this is also tied, it goes to most punches landed from the fighters 2 fights. If even this is tied, the game flips a coin.

Existing Tournaments

Tournaments displayed include those which haven't started, are in progress or have completed.  Cancelled tournaments are not displayed.

You can search for existing tournaments, using filters.

Click on the name of an existing tournament to open up the ProTournamentDetail screen.

ProTournament Detail Screen

This will show details of the selected tournament.
If you are the tournament organiser, you will have the option to cancel tournaments which have not yet started.  As the tournament organiser, you will also have the option to search for and invite fighters, and to enter your own fighters.

If you invite AI controlled fighters, they will respond to the offer the day before the application deadline.  AI fighters with a pending application invitation will not accept fight offers or get fights scheduled so you shouldn't have to worry about them becoming unavailable.

If you are not the organiser, and the tournament is Open, you will have the option to select your qualifying fighters to enter.  Applicants are selected for the tournament in End of Day processing, in a first come first served order.

When entering a tournament, fighters will be stripped of all non-champion title positions.
Champions will have their mandatory delayed by some months depending on how long the tournament is expected to go on for.  A title can only be delayed once this way before a mandatory has to be fought.

Once a tournament has reached its Application Deadline, End of Day processing will perform some processing - if it is an Open tournament and there are not enough entrees, it will find some AI controlled fighters to make up the numbers.  If there are not enough qualifying fighters, or if this is an Invitation Only tournament, then it will be cancelled.  This processing will also allocate prize money depending on the number of participants and the average class of the fighters.  Note that this is the prize money the fighters win, not the promoter!  The promoter will just get their 30% cut as with fight purses. UPDATE - there has been an amendment to eliminate the loophole where promoters create open tournaments and immediately fill with their own fighters thus securing guaranteed prize money.  Prize money will now only be allocated if no promoter has more than 50% of the entrants in a tournament.

The organiser will have the option to add their own prize money on top of any allocated by the game.  This can be done while the tournament is in "preparing".  i.e. after the Application deadline and before the tournament starts.

The amount of money which can be added is limited depending on the average class of the participants and the number of fighters.  The basic limit is:

Average class > 900, basic prize fund max is 20,000,000
800 - 900, max 10,000,000
700 - 800, max 5,000,000
600 - 700, max 3,000,000
500 - 600, max 2,000,000
400 - 500, max 1,000,000
300 - 400, max 500,000
200 - 300, max 250,000
<= 200, max 150,000

These basic max amounts can then be adjusted for tournaments with more participants.
E.g. having a tournament with the max participants of 24 doubles the maximum prize fund.

Once Application deadline processing has taken place, the game will automatically schedule the first round of fights.  These will be visible back in the Pro Tournament detail screen.  For Group format tournaments, this screen will also show the groups and standings.

Seedings will be decided by class.
For an 8 fighter knockout tournament for example, top class fighter will fight 4th class fighter, 2nd fight 5th, 3rd fight 6th etc.

Groups are selected similarly. In a two group tournament, fighters are ranked by class, and position 1, 3 and 5 will be one group, and 2,4,6 the other.

Note that when the game schedules tournament fights, for the sake of simplicity and recovery time and injuries are ignored.  Before a fight is scheduled, fighters are given the same recovery date and fight camp length.  There is no point putting your fighter in fight camp earlier, as the game will just reset it.  You can however, still find sparring for your fighter to get that extra bit of prep if required.
