This is a new kind of tournament which will be staged every 2 years by a randomly selected AI promoter. Unlike existing tournaments, this will involve Promotions rather than individual fighters.
When a tournament is created, a Media statement will be released by the AI promoter, and you can go to the existing pro tournament screen where you will see a button at the top called H2H. Clicking on this will take you to a list of H2H tournaments and from here you can click through to the H2H tournament detail screen. This screen gives you a bit of info at the top such as the requirements for entering. This is that you have at least 20 qualifying fighters, and between them they cover at least 10 weightclasses. A qualifying fighter is anyone who is not due to retire and has stamina of at least 650. These requirements are in place to make it more likely that participants can fill their matchups. There is a button to enter the tournament, and if entered a button to withdraw. The deadline for applying to join will be shown in the details - this is 60 days after the tournament has been created. The day after the application deadline, the game will process the applicants. If less than 32 promoters apply, then a 32 promoter tournament will be created. If more apply, then 64 or 128 tournaments will be created. If more than 128 apply, then unfortunately its first come first served, and the excess promoters will be rejected. To make up the numbers to 32, 64 or 128, AI promoters will be entered.
Each round, promoters will be drawn against each other. The game will work out which weightclasses both promoters have qualifying fighters at and choose 5. There will be rare occasions when there aren't 5 common weightclasses, in which case the game will select the other weightclasses at random. Promoters will then have 6 weeks to select which fighter they want to compete in each weightclass. They will be able to change this as many times as they wish up until the submission deadline. They will not be able to see their opponents choice. If they do not want to enter a fighter, they can enter 1 wildcard per round - in this case the game will pick a random free agent to fight for your promotion in that round. Or you can select no-one. If you do not select a fighter for a matchup, but the opponent does, then it will be counted as an automatic points victory for the opp in that matchup. If 3 or more fighters are not selected by a promoter, then that promoter will be removed from the tournament and replaced with an AI promoter. The day after the submission deadline, the game will automatically schedule the fights and at this point, the matchups will become visible in the H2H tournament detail screen. Once the fights are complete, points will be awarded depending on result and method. A KO win gets 3 pts, a Pts win gets 2 pts. Draws and losses get 0 pts. The promoter with the most pts progresses to the next round. If the pts are equal, then the game looks in further detail at the matchups and counts the number of KDs, stuns, power punches landed and jabs landed to see if it can determine a winner. Winning promotions for each round are awarded prize money as shown on the tournament detail screen. |
