eBoxing promoters love to give something back to the community and to that end, all start off with their own Amateur Boxing Club the running of which is included in their HQ upkeep. This is an optional side of the game which will run in the background with no impact to your main promotion, or you can get more involved by upgrading your gym, finding better trainers and challenging other gyms in head-to-head competitions. The ABC is based in the same location as the HQ, and in the processing after the Promotion is created, 4 fighters join the ABC and the trainer is generated. The initial trainer generated for the gym has no monthly cost Approx every 2 months a novice fighter will join the club to learn the ways of boxing. Some will be better than others, but it is worth noting that the ceiling for amateur fighters attributes is pretty high; An 18 or younger fighter can increase up to 80% in skill attributes, 60% mental and 40% physical 19 - 20 is 75% / 55% / 35% 21 - 23 is 70% / 50% / 30% 24 upwards is 65% / 45% / 25% So if you see fighters with attributes below 500, don't be too disheartened as they could still develop into beasts. As this is you, the promoter, doing his bit for the community and getting the kids off the streets etc you cannot sack fighters from your club. They will just stay there until they turn pro or retire. You do get the first option to sign these fighters though. No other promoter may approach one of your amateurs unless you have surrendered your option on them (done in the amateur fighters details screen). If you do not sign a fighter within 6 months of them declaring they want to turn professional, the first option is automatically surrendered. There are four levels of Gym with 4 being the lowest. A level 4 gym can have up to 10 fighters with first option on them. Level 3 gyms can have up to 20, Level 2 up to 30 and Level 1 up to 40. If you surrender first option, then the fighter does not count in these limits. The total number of fighters possible in a gym (first option or not) is 60. You can look for and sign new trainers, but you can only sign a level up to the level of your gym. Unlike your initial trainer, any trainer you sign has a monthly cost which rises depending on the level of the gym and trainer. i.e. Level 4 gyms can only have level 4 trainers, while a level 1 gym can have any level of trainer. The higher the level gym and trainer, the more chance it has of producing high attribute fighters. Also note that fighters generated by the gym are more likely to be of a style your trainer is most proficient in teaching. Upgrading the gym increases the upkeep cost of your HQ as well as costing a one off upgrade fee. Also within the Amateur Boxing Club screen, you can make ABC Challenges. In these, you challenge other ABC gyms in a head-to-head competition with 3,5 or 7 fights. The maximum number of fights depends on the number of compatible weightclasses between the two gyms. If an ABC challenge is made to an AI promoter, they will just accept in the next processing, assuming they don't already have a challenge lined up - if they do already have a challenge, the offer will go through once that challenge is over. A challenge happens 3 days after it is accepted, so there's not too long to wait. Reputation and Points are awarded for ABC challenge wins, and this contributes to the overall ABC rankings. Coming at the top of the ABC rankings in a game year results in the ABC being awarded the prestigous ABC Gym Of The Year award and earns points for the promoter.
