Santiago Gardin vs Xeres Tobar

Boxing Daily Report from the Ecuador National Finals 2022,  taking place on 11/03/2022 from Santo Domingo, Ecuador:

The Santo Domingo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Santiago Gardin (18 - 8) who hails from Guayaquil, Ecuador and Xeres Tobar(26 - 4) from Manta, Ecuador.  

Round 1: 

Gardin steps away from his opponent and lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Tobar gets on the inside.  Tobar pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to Gardin's body.

Tobar advances into close range.  Tobar quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Gardin is on target with a left hook to Tobar's ribs.  
Gardin is looking to keep the action on the outside and finds the target with a hard jab.  
Tobar sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Tobar lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Tobar throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.
