Asif Ashour vs Rehan Azam

Boxing Daily Report from the Egypt National Finals 2022,  taking place on 14/03/2022 from Alexandria, Egypt:

The Alexandria venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Asif Ashour (6 - 4) who hails from Port Said, Egypt and Rehan Azam(19(1) - 9) from Alexandria, Egypt.  

Round 1: 

Azam manouvers Ashour onto the ropes.  Azam digs in a right hook to Ashour's ribcage.  
Azam gets on the inside.  Azam quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a firm left hook.  
Azam gets on the inside and tries to land a left hook, but Ashour blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.

Azam steps inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Ashour slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Azam forces Ashour to retreat onto the ropes.  Azam sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Ashour connects with a sharp right hook.  
Ashour tries to keep the action at long range and drives a firm cross into his opponents body.

Ashour tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a solid overhand left.  Ashour tries to land a jab, but Azam dodges the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Azam connects with an overhand left.  
Ashour switches the action to the outside and lands a stiff jab.  
Azam advances into close range and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Azam is looking to close the distance and manouvers Ashour onto the ropes.  Ashour digs in a left hook to Azam's ribs.  
Azam pivots to the right of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Ashour's ribs.
