Joaquin Valentin vs Zacarias Bacallao

Boxing Daily Report from the Guatemala National Finals 2022,  taking place on 26/03/2022 from Mixco, Guatemala:

The Mixco venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joaquin Valentin (11 - 14) who hails from Guatemala City, Guatemala and Zacarias Bacallao(22 - 8) from Guatemala City, Guatemala.  

Round 1: 

Valentin finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Valentin pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Valentin steps away from his opponent.  Bacallao lands an overhand left.  
Bacallao walks Valentin onto the ropes.  Bacallao sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Bacallao attempts to land a left hook, but Valentin sidesteps and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Bacallao throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Valentin switches the action to the outside and is on target with a stinging cross.  
Bacallao advances into close range.  Valentin digs in a right hook to Bacallao's body.  
Valentin hits home with a right hook.  
Valentin lands a cross.  
Bacallao steps inside.  Valentin throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Bacallao's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Valentin pivots to the left of his opponent and hits the target with a hard jab.  
Valentin steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Bacallao is looking to close the distance and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.

Bacallao is looking to close the distance and forces Valentin to retreat onto the ropes.  Bacallao lands a solid right hook.  
Bacallao advances into close range and lands a left uppercut.  
Bacallao lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.
