Clinton Arikan vs Corey Lenku

Boxing Daily Report from the Kenya National Finals 2022,  taking place on 29/03/2022 from Athi River, Kenya:

The Athi River venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Clinton Arikan (16(2) - 16) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Corey Lenku(19 - 10) from Nairobi, Kenya.  

Round 1: 

Arikan gets on the inside and is on target with a firm right uppercut.  
Arikan lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Arikan closes the distance and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Arikan advances into close range and throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Arikan lands a hard jab.  
Arikan gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Arikan gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.

Lenku steps inside.  Arikan digs in a left uppercut to Lenku's body.  
Lenku tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Lenku digs in a stinging right uppercut to Arikan's ribs.  
Lenku forces Arikan to retreat onto the ropes.  Lenku lands a right uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Lenku digs in a right hook to Arikan's ribcage.  
Lenku finds the target with a jab.  
Arikan switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Arikan lands a sharp overhand right.  
Lenku forces Arikan to retreat into the corner.  Lenku lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Lenku is looking to close the distance.  Lenku pivots from in front of his opponent, but Arikan lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Lenku steps inside.  Arikan lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Lenku snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.  
Arikan strikes his opponents body with a jab.

Arikan is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Arikan feints a left, and then lands with a hard jab.  
Lenku connects with a stinging cross.  
Arikan steps away from his opponent and lands with a sharp jab.  
Arikan connects with a right uppercut.  
Arikan switches the action to the outside.  Lenku tries to land a jab, but Arikan slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Arikan lands a jab.  
Lenku forces Arikan to retreat onto the ropes.  Lenku lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.
