Boxing Daily Report from the Bahamas National Finals 2023,  taking place on 14/03/2023 from Nassau, Bahamas:

The Nassau venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Brett Caruthers (5 - 6) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Jay Haig(12 - 7) from Nassau, Bahamas.  

Round 1: 

Caruthers closes the distance.  Caruthers sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Haig lands a left uppercut.  
Haig is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left.

Haig hits home with a cross.  
Haig steps away from his opponent.  Caruthers tries to land a jab, but Haig slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Caruthers is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into Haig's ribs.  
Haig connects with a cross.  
Haig lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Caruthers lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Haig lands with a stiff jab.  
Caruthers goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Haig's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Haig tries to step out of his opponents range.  Caruthers lands an overhand right.
