Jacques Guimard vs James Ndi

Boxing Daily Report from the Cameroon National Finals 2023,  taking place on 14/03/2023 from Bamenda, Cameroon:

The Bamenda venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Jacques Guimard (21(2) - 16) who hails from Douala, Cameroon and James Ndi(3 - 0) from Garoua, Cameroon.  

Round 1: 

Guimard gets on the inside and is on target with a left hook.  
Guimard lands a jab to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Guimard lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Guimard strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Guimard lands a right hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.

Guimard steps inside and hits home with a firm left hook.

Ndi lands with a spiteful jab.  
Ndi lands a stiff jab.  
Guimard closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.  Guimard holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Ndi pushes his forearm into Guimard's face.  The ref breaks Guimard's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Guimard closes the distance.  Guimard pivots from in front of his opponent.  Guimard lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Guimard ties up his opponent.  Guimard is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Guimard to stop fouling.  
Guimard pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Guimard gets on the inside and walks Ndi onto the ropes.  Guimard lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body.

Guimard lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Ndi lands a right uppercut.  
Guimard slams a hurtful right uppercut into Ndi's body.  NDI WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Ndi quickly recovers. 
Guimard sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Ndi is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Ndi tries to land a right hook, but Guimard sidesteps and counters with a cross.
