Benjamin Kalm vs Kyosti Paakkonen

Boxing Daily Report from the Finland National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/03/2023 from Vantaa, Finland:

The Vantaa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Benjamin Kalm (4 - 6) who hails from Helsinki, Finland and Kyosti Paakkonen(19 - 12) from Oulu, Finland.  

Round 1: 

Paakkonen lands a jab to Kalm's body.  
Paakkonen steps inside and attempts to land a right hook, but Kalm blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Kalm switches the action to the outside.  Kalm sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.

Kalm throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

Paakkonen sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Kalm finds the target with a jab.  
Kalm steps to the outside.  Kalm sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Paakkonen tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

Kalm steps to the outside.  Kalm feints a right hook, but Paakkonen ignores the feint and lands with a left hook.  
Paakkonen pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.

Paakkonen steps inside and walks his opponent into the corner.  Paakkonen lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Paakkonen closes the distance and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Paakkonen closes the distance.  Kalm goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Paakkonen time to recover.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Kalm's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!  Paakkonen's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
