Alec Appiah vs Mykelti Salifu

Boxing Daily Report from the Ghana National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/03/2023 from Accra, Ghana:

The Accra venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Alec Appiah (32(1) - 6) who hails from Accra, Ghana and Mykelti Salifu(18 - 12) from Kumasi, Ghana.  

Round 1: 

Salifu advances into close range.  Salifu pivots to the right of his opponent, but Appiah is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Salifu gets on the inside and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Appiah sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand right.  
Salifu closes the distance and forces Appiah to back into the ropes.  Salifu throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Salifu steps inside.  Salifu pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Appiah is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Salifu is looking to close the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
Appiah steps away from his opponent.  Appiah drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Salifu is on target with a cross.  
Appiah lands an overhand right.

Salifu is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Salifu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Appiah hits home with a stinging cross.  
Appiah connects with a sharp left uppercut.

Salifu gets on the inside.  Salifu sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Appiah is on target with a left hook.  
Appiah is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Appiah contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Salifu lands with a hard jab.

Salifu closes the distance and forces Appiah to retreat onto the ropes.  Appiah lands a left hook.
