Boxing Daily Report from the Ghana National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/03/2023 from Accra, Ghana:

The Accra venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Simba Rabiu (2 - 3(1)) who hails from Kumasi, Ghana and Verlyn Ado(25(1) - 9) from Accra, Ghana.  

Round 1: 

Ado lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Rabiu throws an overhand left, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Ado cuts off the ring, trapping Rabiu on the ropes.  Ado pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ado attempts to land a jab, but Rabiu dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Ado's ribcage.  
Ado is looking to close the distance.  Ado pivots to the side of his opponent.  Rabiu tries to land a right hook, but Ado blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ado advances into close range.  Ado pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Ado gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Rabiu lands a right uppercut.  
Ado pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Rabiu tries to step out of his opponents range.  Ado lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Ado tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Ado lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Rabiu steps away from his opponent and finds the target with a jab.

Ado gets on the inside.  Rabiu throws a left hook, but Ado ties up his opponent.  Rabiu pushes his forearm into Ado's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Rabiu about fouling.  
Ado walks Rabiu down, trapping him in a corner.  Ado lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ado quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Rabiu throws a right hook, but Ado ties up his opponent.  Ado leans on his opponent using all his weight. Rabiu hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Rabiu.  
Rabiu advances into close range.  Ado throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Ado ties up his opponent.  Ado pushes his forearm into Rabiu's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Rabiu connects with a right hook.  
Ado is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.
