Rob Dempsey vs Lee MacBride

Boxing Daily Report from the Ireland National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/03/2023 from Limerick, Ireland:

The Limerick venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rob Dempsey (22(3) - 10) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Lee MacBride(22 - 10) from Dublin, Ireland.  

Round 1: 

Dempsey advances into close range and lands a right hook.  
Dempsey lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Dempsey forces MacBride to retreat onto the ropes.  Dempsey sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
MacBride attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Dempsey to the neutral corner.  He warns MacBride that he could be heading for a point deduction.  
MacBride feints a left hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Dempsey steps inside and is on target with a left uppercut.  
MacBride hits home with a cross.  MacBride throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
MacBride manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  MacBride pivots to the right of his opponent and lands with a stiff jab.  
Dempsey drives a right hook into MacBride's body.  
MacBride manouvers Dempsey onto the ropes.  MacBride pivots from in front of his opponent, but Dempsey hits home with a right hook.  
MacBride lands with a sharp jab.  
Dempsey gets on the inside and lands a left hook.  
Dempsey attempts to land a jab, but MacBride dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Dempsey closes the distance.  MacBride lands a right uppercut.  
MacBride strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
MacBride pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a cross.

MacBride pivots to the right of his opponent, but Dempsey digs in a right hook to MacBride's ribcage.  
MacBride throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Dempsey is looking to close the distance and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
MacBride hits home with a right uppercut.  
MacBride lands a cross.  
MacBride drives a solid jab into his opponents face.  
MacBride sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Dempsey is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to MacBride's body.
