Boxing Daily Report from the Kenya National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/03/2023 from Mombasa, Kenya:

The Mombasa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Ollie Kiragu (28 - 12) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Seth Wamalwa(16(1) - 16) from Nairobi, Kenya.  

Round 1: 

Kiragu steps away from his opponent.  Kiragu sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kiragu lands a straight 1 - 2.  Kiragu throws an overhand right, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Wamalwa closes the distance and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Kiragu lands a left hook.  
Kiragu steps to the outside and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Wamalwa advances into close range and lands a sharp right uppercut.  
Kiragu steps to the outside.  Kiragu feints a cross, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Wamalwa is looking to close the distance and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Kiragu is on target with a left hook.  
Wamalwa advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Kiragu lands a left hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Kiragu is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Kiragu stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Wamalwa hits home with a cross.

Kiragu is on target with a right hook.  Wamalwa clinches his opponent.  Kiragu uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Wamalwa behind the head.
