Davie Mulla vs Quaddus Zaman

Boxing Daily Report from the Kenya National Finals 2023,  taking place on 29/03/2023 from Mombasa, Kenya:

The Mombasa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Davie Mulla (20 - 17) who hails from Athi River, Kenya and Quaddus Zaman(29(2) - 11) from Kikuyu, Kenya.  

Round 1: 

Zaman gets on the inside and connects with a sharp right hook.  
Mulla is looking to keep his distance and tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Zaman connects with a stinging left hook.  
Mulla attempts to land a right hook, but Zaman slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Zaman sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mulla attempts to land a cross, but Zaman dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Zaman steps inside and forces Mulla to retreat onto the ropes.  Zaman lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mulla tries to keep the action at long range.  Zaman lands a stinging overhand right.  
Zaman advances into close range.  Mulla attempts to land a left hook, but Zaman blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.

Zaman is on target with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mulla lands a left uppercut.  
Zaman cuts off the ring, trapping Mulla in the red corner.  Zaman is on target with a solid left uppercut to Mulla's body.  
Mulla lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Zaman closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Zaman leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Mulla pushes his forearm into Zaman's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mulla to stop fouling.  
Mulla steps inside.  Zaman lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Zaman lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Zaman manages to force Mulla onto the ropes.  Zaman lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mulla is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Zaman finds the target with a jab.  
Mulla advances into close range.  Mulla throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Zaman time to recover.  
Zaman throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mulla gets on the inside.  Zaman lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mulla steps away from his opponent and lands with a stinging jab.  
Mulla is on target with a firm left hook.  Zaman holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Zaman pushes his forearm into Mulla's face.  The referee warns Zaman and breaks the clinch.
