Connor Mbiyu vs Matt Misoi

Boxing Daily Report from the Kenya National Finals 2023,  taking place on 29/03/2023 from Mombasa, Kenya:

The Mombasa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Middleweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Connor Mbiyu (26 - 9(1)) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Matt Misoi(25(1) - 12) from Kisumu, Kenya.  

Round 1: 

Misoi gets on the inside and drives a right hook into his opponents body.

Misoi is looking to close the distance and is on target with a solid left uppercut to Mbiyu's body.

Mbiyu lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Misoi pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a solid left hook.  
Misoi is on target with a stinging left hook to Mbiyu's body.

Mbiyu attempts to land a left hook, but Misoi blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Misoi drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Misoi steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Misoi drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Misoi walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Misoi lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Misoi digs in a left hook to Mbiyu's liver.  Misoi ties up his opponent.  Mbiyu throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mbiyu.  
Misoi closes the distance.  Mbiyu is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Mbiyu steps away from his opponent and hits home with a sharp jab.  
Mbiyu lands with a spiteful jab.  
Misoi steps inside.  Mbiyu throws a right hook, but Misoi ties up his opponent.  Mbiyu is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Misoi pushes his forearm into Mbiyu's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Misoi forces Mbiyu to back into the ropes.  Misoi drives a forceful left hook into his opponents liver.  MBIYU IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE REMAINS ON THE CANVAS AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Misoi!
