Ollie Kiragu vs Kendis Taragon

Boxing Daily Report from the Kenya National Finals 2023,  taking place on 29/03/2023 from Mombasa, Kenya:

The Mombasa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Ollie Kiragu (29 - 12) who hails from Nairobi, Kenya and Kendis Taragon(16(1) - 21) from Nairobi, Kenya.  

Round 1: 

Taragon hits home with a right uppercut.  
Taragon lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Kiragu finds the target with a jab.  
Kiragu attempts to land a right uppercut, but Taragon sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Kiragu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Kiragu tries to land a jab, but Taragon sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Taragon tries to step out of his opponents range.  Taragon stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Kiragu lands a cross.  
Kiragu closes the distance and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Kiragu drives a left hook into Taragon's ribs.  Kiragu throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Kiragu is on target with a jab.  
Taragon lands a ramrod jab.  
Taragon quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents body.  
Kiragu gets on the inside.  Taragon lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Taragon connects with a firm left hook.  
Taragon pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a cross to Kiragu's body.

Taragon lands a left hook.  
Kiragu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Taragon's liver.  
Kiragu backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Taragon steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Taragon hits home with a stinging left uppercut.  
Kiragu attempts to land a cross, but Taragon sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Kiragu lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Taragon lands a stiff jab.  
Kiragu advances into close range.  Taragon throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents ribs.
