Alik Mezasargs vs Ivan Plaudis

Boxing Daily Report from the Latvia National Finals 2023,  taking place on 14/04/2023 from Riga, Latvia:

The Riga venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Alik Mezasargs (5 - 13) who hails from Riga, Latvia and Ivan Plaudis(33 - 8) from Riga, Latvia.  

Round 1: 

Mezasargs steps to the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Plaudis gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Plaudis lands a right uppercut.  
Plaudis tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Plaudis's liver.

Plaudis lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Mezasargs throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mezasargs is looking to keep the action on the outside and drives a jab into his opponents body.  
Plaudis lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Plaudis gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Plaudis advances into close range and walks Mezasargs into the red corner.  Plaudis hits home with a right hook.  
Mezasargs is on target with an overhand right.
