Oleksiy Medved vs Petro Koltun

Boxing Daily Report from the Ukraine National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/04/2023 from Odessa, Ukraine:

The Odessa venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Oleksiy Medved (18 - 15) who hails from Horlivka, Ukraine and Petro Koltun(16 - 12) from Kremenchuk, Ukraine.  

Round 1: 

Medved steps away from his opponent.  Koltun lands a jab.  
Koltun closes the distance and walks Medved onto the ropes.  Koltun pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Koltun sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Medved connects with a cross.  
Koltun quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Koltun tries to land a jab, but Medved dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Medved lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Koltun throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Koltun switches the action to the outside and hits home with a spiteful jab.  Koltun throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Medved to the neutral corner.  He warns Koltun that continued fouling will result in a point deduction.
