Boxing Daily Report from the USA National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/04/2023 from Charlotte, USA:

The Charlotte venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Sean Mathew (6 - 17) who hails from Salt Lake City, USA and Tobias Taggart(20 - 5) from Cedar Rapids, USA.  

Round 1: 

Mathew is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  
Taggart advances into close range and connects with a right uppercut.  
Taggart advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.  
Mathew tries to land a left hook, but Taggart parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Taggart switches the action to the outside.  Taggart feints a jab, and then lands an overhand right.

Taggart throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Mathew time to recover.  
Taggart feints a right hook, but Mathew does not fall for it and is on target with a left uppercut.  
Mathew steps away from his opponent.  Mathew sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Taggart steps inside and lands a left uppercut.  
Mathew steps away from his opponent.  Taggart hits the target with a hard jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Taggart's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.

Mathew tries to keep the action at long range.  Taggart lands with a hard jab.  
Taggart advances into close range and lands a left hook.  
Taggart steps away from his opponent.  Mathew drives a solid jab into his opponents face.  
Taggart hits home with a right hook.  
Taggart connects with a left uppercut.
