Adam Murwira vs Shaun Nyumbu

Boxing Daily Report from the Zimbabwe National Finals 2023,  taking place on 26/04/2023 from Harare, Zimbabwe:

The Harare venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Adam Murwira (16 - 18) who hails from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Shaun Nyumbu(16 - 20) from Harare, Zimbabwe.  

Round 1: 

Nyumbu is looking to close the distance.  Nyumbu pivots to the side of his opponent, but Murwira lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Murwira steps inside.  Murwira sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a sharp right hook.  
Nyumbu hits home with a left hook.  
Nyumbu closes the distance and throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Nyumbu walks Murwira onto the ropes.  Nyumbu digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Nyumbu is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Murwira steps inside.  Nyumbu connects with a left hook.  
Nyumbu digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Murwira lands a cross.  
Nyumbu tries to step out of his opponents range.  Murwira lands a cross.  
Murwira tries to land a left hook, but Nyumbu slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Nyumbu is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Nyumbu is looking to close the distance.  Nyumbu pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a solid right uppercut to Murwira's ribs.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nyumbu's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Nyumbu switches the action to the outside.  Nyumbu sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Murwira connects with a cross.  
Murwira lands a stinging cross.  
Murwira is on target with a right uppercut.  
Nyumbu digs in a left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Nyumbu switches the action to the outside.  Nyumbu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Murwira finds the target with a jab.  
Murwira tries to step out of his opponents range.  Nyumbu lands a firm overhand right.  
Murwira connects with an overhand left.  
Murwira is looking to close the distance.  Murwira sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Nyumbu drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Murwira is looking to keep his distance.  Nyumbu lands a cross.  
Murwira walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Nyumbu digs in a right hook to Murwira's body.

Murwira manages to force Nyumbu into the corner.  Nyumbu throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Nyumbu holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Murwira pushes his forearm into Nyumbu's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Murwira about fouling.  
Murwira lands a firm overhand right.  
Murwira is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but Nyumbu ties up his opponent.  Murwira leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Nyumbu switches the action to the outside.  Murwira lands a cross followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head.
