Gordon Morris vs Mervyn Crowe

Boxing Daily Report from the UK National Finals 2023,  taking place on 29/04/2023 from Cambridge, UK:

The Cambridge venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Gordon Morris (7 - 23) who hails from Edinburgh, UK and Mervyn Crowe(25(1) - 12) from Southampton, UK.  

Round 1: 

Morris closes the distance.  Crowe backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Morris tries to tag Crowe on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Morris digs in a right uppercut to Crowe's body.

Crowe advances into close range.  Morris pivots to the left of his opponent, but Crowe is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Crowe steps inside.  Morris attempts to land a left hook, but Crowe blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Crowe lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Morris goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Crowe time to recover.  
Crowe lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Crowe hits home with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Crowe's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.
