Boxing Daily Report from the Cuba National Finals 2024,  taking place on 17/03/2024 from Santa Clara, Cuba:

The Santa Clara venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have the Final of the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Cris Ramirez (42 - 13(1)) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Porfio Alpizar(16 - 4) from Holguin, Cuba.  

Round 1: 

Alpizar advances into close range.  Ramirez digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Alpizar throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Alpizar attempts to land a left hook, but Ramirez blocks the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Ramirez manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Ramirez pivots to the right of his opponent, but Alpizar lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ramirez is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Alpizar is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent into a corner.  Ramirez hits home with a stinging right uppercut.  
Alpizar closes the distance and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head.

Alpizar sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Ramirez lands a left hook.

Alpizar walks Ramirez down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ramirez lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.
