Shinji Ito vs Yutaka Kubo

Boxing Daily Report from the Japan National Finals 2024,  taking place on 26/03/2024 from Hakodate, Japan:

The Hakodate venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Shinji Ito (13(1) - 17) who hails from Kawaguchi, Japan and Yutaka Kubo(34(1) - 7) from Chofu, Japan.  

Round 1: 

Kubo steps inside.  Kubo pivots to the side of his opponent.  Ito attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Kubo to the neutral corner.  He tells Ito he will lose a point if he continues to foul.
