Boxing Daily Report from the Finland National Finals 2024,  taking place on 29/03/2024 from Tampere, Finland:

The Tampere venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Jyrki Koivurinnen (8 - 6) who hails from Espoo, Finland and Vesa Askola(47 - 7) from Espoo, Finland.  

Round 1: 

Askola lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.

Askola lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Askola connects with a left uppercut.  
Askola connects with a right uppercut.  
Koivurinnen pivots to the left of his opponent, but Askola lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Askola is looking to keep his distance.  Koivurinnen lands an overhand left followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Askola lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  
Askola is looking to close the distance and manouvers Koivurinnen into a corner.  Askola lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Koivurinnen lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Koivurinnen hits home with an overhand right.  
Askola lands with a hard jab.  
Askola lands a straight 1 - 2.  He then lands a jab followed by a cross to his opponents body.  
Askola feints a right hook, and then hits home with an overhand left.  
Askola quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Koivurinnen is on target with a cross.

Koivurinnen closes the distance and walks Askola down, trapping him on the ropes.  Koivurinnen drives a sharp left uppercut into his opponents body.  Askola ties up his opponent.  Askola is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.
