Kai Bowen vs Seamus MacAlastair

Boxing Daily Report from the Ireland National Finals 2024,  taking place on 29/03/2024 from Dun Laoghaire, Ireland:

The Dun Laoghaire venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Kai Bowen (36(1) - 17(1)) who hails from Cork, Ireland and Seamus MacAlastair(12 - 8) from Dublin, Ireland.

MacAlastair quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a cross.

MacAlastair walks his opponent onto the ropes.  MacAlastair sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Bowen snaps his opponents head back with a stinging jab.

Bowen is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging right uppercut to MacAlastair's body.

Bowen advances into close range and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Bowen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a right hook to MacAlastair's ribcage.  
MacAlastair pivots to the left of his opponent.  MacAlastair throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Bowen pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Bowen walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Bowen throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives MacAlastair time to recover.  
Bowen sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Bowen tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
MacAlastair switches the action to the outside and drives a jab into Bowen's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Bowen's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
