Hiroki Morimoto vs Hideki Aoki

Boxing Daily Report from the Japan National Finals 2024,  taking place on 29/03/2024 from Hakodate, Japan:

The Hakodate venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Hiroki Morimoto (9 - 2) who hails from Kyoto, Japan and Hideki Aoki(40(1) - 11) from Higashiosaka, Japan.  

Round 1: 

Aoki steps inside.  Morimoto hits home with a right hook.  
Aoki lands a cross to the head, a cross to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Morimoto is looking to keep his distance and lands a ramrod jab.

Aoki manouvers Morimoto into a corner.  Morimoto throws a right uppercut, but Aoki ties up his opponent.  Aoki leans on his opponent using all his weight. Aoki uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Morimoto behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Aoki is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Aoki lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Aoki pivots to the right of his opponent.  Aoki hits home with a left uppercut.  Aoki ties up his opponent.  Morimoto leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Aoki uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Morimoto's kidney. The ref breaks Aoki's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Aoki lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Aoki quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Aoki is looking to close the distance and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Morimoto switches the action to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Morimoto tries to step out of his opponents range and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Morimoto pivots to the right of his opponent.  Aoki throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Aoki drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Morimoto lands a cross.  
Morimoto tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Aoki walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Aoki lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Aoki connects with a right hook.  
Aoki lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Aoki hits home with a left hook.  
Aoki sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  
Morimoto is on target with a solid right hook.  
Aoki is on target with a right hook to Morimoto's ribs.
