Billy Wood vs John Messer

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2024,  taking place on 11/04/2024 from Christchurch, New Zealand:

The Christchurch venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Billy Wood (2 - 14) who hails from Hamilton, New Zealand and John Messer(4 - 3) from Auckland, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Messer stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Wood attempts to land a right hook, but Messer blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.
