Atif Sheikh vs Paul Kou

Boxing Daily Report from the Malaysia National Finals 2024,  taking place on 14/04/2024 from Ipoh, Malaysia:

The Ipoh venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Atif Sheikh (20(1) - 21) who hails from Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Paul Kou(11 - 6) from Shah Alam, Malaysia.  

Round 1: 

Kou hits the target with a spiteful jab.

Sheikh switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Sheikh lands a left uppercut.  
Sheikh attempts to land a jab, but Kou slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Kou gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook.  
Sheikh is looking to keep his distance.  Sheikh sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a stiff jab into his opponents face.  
Sheikh connects with a solid cross.

Kou advances into close range and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Sheikh is on target with a right uppercut.  
Sheikh lands with a solid jab.  
Kou lands with a stiff jab.  
Kou is looking to close the distance and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Sheikh hits home with a right uppercut.  
Kou drives a stinging jab into his opponents face.  
Kou lands a jab.  
Kou closes the distance.  Sheikh is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Kou walks Sheikh into a corner.  Sheikh throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Sheikh ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Kou pushes his forearm into Sheikh's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Kou.
