Lloyd Howell vs Sid Yuille

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2024,  taking place on 17/04/2024 from Christchurch, New Zealand:

The Christchurch venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have the Final of the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Lloyd Howell (8 - 8) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Sid Yuille(26(1) - 24) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Yuille closes the distance.  Howell connects with a sharp left uppercut.

Howell strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Howell is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Yuille hits home with a cross.  
Yuille is looking to close the distance.  Howell digs in a solid right hook to Yuille's body.

Yuille gets on the inside.  Howell throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Yuille time to recover.  
Howell is looking to keep his distance and connects with a cross.  
Yuille walks Howell down, trapping him on the ropes.  Howell digs in a right hook to Yuille's ribcage.  
Yuille attempts to land a right hook, but Howell sidesteps and counters with a left hook.
