Boxing Daily Report from the Saudi Arabia National Finals 2024,  taking place on 26/04/2024 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

The Riyadh venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Atif Omer (10 - 3) who hails from Medina, Saudi Arabia and Bilal Turay(30(3) - 14) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  

Round 1: 

Turay steps inside.  Turay quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Omer is on target with a right hook.

Turay lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Omer tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Turay pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.

Turay manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Omer tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Omer tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Omer lands with a ramrod jab.  Omer attempts to land a jab, but Turay blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Turay steps inside.  Omer drives a solid right hook into Turay's body.  
Turay connects with a right hook.  
Omer lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Omer is looking to keep his distance and tries to land a jab, but Turay sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to Omer's body.

Turay is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Turay drives a left hook into Omer's body.  
Turay lands a jab.  
Omer steps away from his opponent and lands a stiff jab.  Omer attempts to land a jab, but Turay slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Omer's liver.  
Omer tries to land a jab, but Turay blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Omer is on target with a left hook.  
Turay lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Omer tries to land a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.

Turay is looking to close the distance and walks Omer into the corner.  Turay throws a left uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot.  Turay ties up his opponent.  Omer throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Omer tries to keep the action at long range.  Omer drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Turay connects with a cross.

Turay gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Omer throws a right hook, but Turay holds on to his opponent.  Omer leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Turay's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Turay pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Omer's trainer is telling his fighter he needs a knockout to win!  Turay's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
