Fidel Pedroso vs Joaquin Agustin

Boxing Daily Report from the Uruguay National Finals 2024,  taking place on 26/04/2024 from Montevideo, Uruguay:

The Montevideo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Fidel Pedroso (13 - 10) who hails from Montevideo, Uruguay and Joaquin Agustin(5 - 11) from Montevideo, Uruguay.  

Round 1: 

Agustin advances into close range.  Agustin pivots to the left of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.

Agustin is looking to close the distance.  Agustin sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Agustin tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Agustin's ribs.  
Pedroso is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Agustin is on target with an overhand left.  
Agustin forces Pedroso to back into the ropes.  Pedroso lands a stinging jab.  
Pedroso lands a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Pedroso's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Agustin is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pedroso is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Pedroso lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Pedroso lands a left hook.  
Agustin gets on the inside and hits home with a left hook.  
Pedroso lands a jab to Agustin's body.  
Agustin walks Pedroso down, trapping him on the ropes.  Pedroso drives a right hook into his opponents body.  Pedroso ties up his opponent.  Agustin is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Pedroso tries to land a right hook, but Agustin sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.
