Boxing Daily Report from the Yemen National Finals 2024,  taking place on 26/04/2024 from Sana'a, Yemen:

The Sana'a venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rehman Marwan (8 - 10) who hails from Sana'a, Yemen and Zuffur Khalaf(34(3) - 19) from Aden, Yemen.  

Round 1: 

Marwan attempts to land a jab, but Khalaf slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Khalaf closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Khalaf closes the distance and manages to force Marwan onto the ropes.  Khalaf connects with a left hook.

Khalaf forces Marwan to retreat onto the ropes.  Khalaf lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Marwan sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Khalaf tries to land a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Marwan lands a sharp right uppercut.  
Khalaf lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Khalaf ties up his opponent.  Marwan pushes his forearm into Khalaf's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Khalaf advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
Khalaf walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Marwan throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Khalaf throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Khalaf clinches his opponent.  Marwan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Marwan.  
Marwan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Marwan tries to land a jab, but Khalaf sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Khalaf closes the distance and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Khalaf digs in a left hook to Marwan's body.  
Khalaf is on target with a firm left hook to Marwan's body.  MARWAN IS HURT!  Khalaf clinches his opponent.  Khalaf leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Khalaf's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Khalaf is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Khalaf lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head, AND DOWN GOES MARWAN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Khalaf!
