Alastair Ruane vs Ben Erving

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 31/08/2024 from Birmingham, USA:

The Birmingham venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Alastair Ruane (12 - 4) who hails from Nashville, USA and Ben Erving(2 - 17) from Birmingham, USA.

Ruane closes the distance and lands a right hook.

Ruane is looking to close the distance.  Ruane quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Erving drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
Erving pivots to the left of his opponent.  Erving tries to land a jab, but Ruane slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ruane closes the distance and drives a firm right hook into Erving's body.  
Ruane lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Ruane steps away from his opponent.  Erving tries to land a cross, but Ruane dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Ruane advances into close range.  Erving is on target with a sharp right hook.  
Ruane hits home with an overhand right.

Ruane connects with a sharp right hook.

Ruane steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Erving attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Ruane's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Ruane advances into close range.  Erving drives a left hook into Ruane's ribs.  
Ruane hits home with a right hook.  
Erving is looking to close the distance and walks Ruane down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ruane is on target with a right uppercut.  
Erving lands a stiff jab.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Erving's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!

Ruane is on target with a firm right hook to Erving's ribs.  Ruane throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Erving's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Erving pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a firm left hook.  
Erving lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.
