Shamus McCorkle vs Eoghan Kavanah

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 11/10/2024 from Cork, Ireland:

The Cork venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Shamus McCorkle (7 - 8(4)) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Eoghan Kavanah(2 - 9) from Cork, Ireland.  

Round 1: 

McCorkle lands a hard jab.  
Kavanah tries to land a left hook, but McCorkle blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McCorkle steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.

McCorkle walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  McCorkle digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
McCorkle lands with a sharp jab.  
McCorkle sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
McCorkle steps to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Kavanah forces McCorkle to back into a corner.  Kavanah lands a right hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Kavanah's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!

Kavanah lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
McCorkle steps away from his opponent.  McCorkle circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Kavanah hits home with an overhand right.  
Kavanah lands a solid right hook.  
Kavanah manouvers McCorkle onto the ropes.  Kavanah sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Kavanah throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Kavanah clinches his opponent.  Kavanah leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, McCorkle pushes his forearm into Kavanah's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kavanah attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends McCorkle to the neutral corner.  He warns Kavanah that continued fouling will result in a point deduction.
