Avo Roupenyan vs Melik Jizmejyan

Boxing Daily Report from the Armenia National Finals 2025,  taking place on 11/03/2025 from Yerevan, Armenia:

The Yerevan venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Avo Roupenyan (25 - 16) who hails from Yerevan, Armenia and Melik Jizmejyan(4 - 3) from Yerevan, Armenia.  

Round 1: 

Roupenyan tries to step out of his opponents range.  Jizmejyan is on target with an overhand left.  
Roupenyan attempts to land a jab, but Jizmejyan slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Roupenyan gets on the inside and lands a right hook.  
Jizmejyan throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Roupenyan hits home with a right hook.

Jizmejyan feints a jab, tricking Roupenyan into throwing a left hook counter.  Jizmejyan springs the trap, countering with  a cross.  
Roupenyan walks Jizmejyan down, trapping him on the ropes.  Roupenyan pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Jizmejyan switches the action to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Jizmejyan is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Jizmejyan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Roupenyan lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Roupenyan gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Roupenyan cuts off the ring, trapping Jizmejyan on the ropes.  Roupenyan drives a firm left hook into Jizmejyan's liver.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Roupenyan's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
