Olympe Tchoyi vs Wyatt Calmat

Boxing Daily Report from the Cameroon National Finals 2025,  taking place on 11/03/2025 from Douala, Cameroon:

The Douala venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Olympe Tchoyi (3 - 1) who hails from Bamenda, Cameroon and Wyatt Calmat(10 - 16) from Douala, Cameroon.  

Round 1: 

Tchoyi lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Calmat lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Calmat pivots to the side of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Calmat gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Calmat pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Tchoyi tries to keep the action at long range.  Calmat tries to land a cross, but Tchoyi sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Tchoyi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Calmat gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the red corner.  Calmat is on target with a right hook to Tchoyi's ribs.  
Calmat lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Calmat switches the action to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Calmat advances into close range and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Tchoyi pivots from in front of his opponent, but Calmat lands a jab.  
Tchoyi steps away from his opponent.  Calmat finds the target with a jab.  
Calmat is looking to close the distance.  Calmat backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Tchoyi is whaling away with hooks, but Calmat keeps his defence tight.  
Tchoyi connects with a left hook.  
Calmat advances into close range.  Tchoyi pivots to the left of his opponent, but Calmat lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Tchoyi tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Calmat's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
