Elias Ras vs Hernan Montes

Boxing Daily Report from the Costa Rica National Finals 2025,  taking place on 11/03/2025 from San Jose, Costa Rica:

The San Jose venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Elias Ras (2 - 5) who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica and Hernan Montes(12 - 22) from San Jose, Costa Rica.  

Round 1: 

Montes is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  Montes throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ras lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Ras is on target with a right hook to Montes's ribcage.  
Montes pivots to the left of his opponent, but Ras connects with a left hook.

Montes closes the distance.  Ras attempts to land a right hook, but Montes blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Ras throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Montes steps inside and manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Ras connects with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Ras's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Montes feints a right hook, and then lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.
