Luis Sicilia vs Marjun Huertas

Boxing Daily Report from the Ecuador National Finals 2025,  taking place on 11/03/2025 from Duran, Ecuador:

The Duran venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Luis Sicilia (6 - 7) who hails from Portoviejo, Ecuador and Marjun Huertas(19(1) - 26) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.  

Round 1: 

Sicilia gets on the inside.  Sicilia pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Huertas is on target with a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Huertas sidesteps to the left of his opponent and strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Sicilia closes the distance.  Sicilia quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Huertas connects with a solid right hook.  
Huertas connects with a left hook.  
Huertas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Huertas lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Huertas pivots to the side of his opponent.  Huertas tries to land a jab, but Sicilia slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Sicilia tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with an overhand right.  
Huertas tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Sicilia walks Huertas onto the ropes.  Sicilia stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Huertas is on target with a left hook to Sicilia's body.  
Huertas finds the target with a jab.  
Sicilia advances into close range.  Sicilia pivots from in front of his opponent, but Huertas is on target with a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Huertas lands a solid jab.  
Sicilia gets on the inside.  Sicilia backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Huertas throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Sicilia is looking to close the distance.  Huertas lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Sicilia lands a stiff jab.  
Huertas lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Huertas stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Sicilia hits home with a cross.  Sicilia attempts to land a jab, but Huertas dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.

Huertas is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  Huertas throws an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.
