Mason Sowah vs Umi Gyan

Boxing Daily Report from the Ghana National Finals 2025,  taking place on 26/03/2025 from Kumasi, Ghana:

The Kumasi venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Mason Sowah (24(2) - 20) who hails from Kumasi, Ghana and Umi Gyan(9 - 5) from Accra, Ghana.

Sowah tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a stinging cross.  
Gyan lands a stinging jab.  
Gyan gets on the inside and forces Sowah to retreat onto the ropes.  Sowah throws a left hook, but is unable to find the target.  Sowah ties up his opponent.  Sowah leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Gyan pushes his forearm into Sowah's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gyan to stop fouling.
