Dave Bett vs Ian Shand

Boxing Daily Report from the Jamaica National Finals 2025,  taking place on 26/03/2025 from New Kingston, Jamaica:

The New Kingston venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Dave Bett (9 - 2) who hails from New Kingston, Jamaica and Ian Shand(4 - 9) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  

Round 1: 

Bett pivots to the side of his opponent, but Shand digs in a left hook to Bett's body.  
Shand finds the target with a jab.  
Shand steps away from his opponent and connects with a cross.  Shand tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Shand tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Shand switches the action to the outside.  Bett lands a spiteful jab.  
Bett closes the distance.  Shand connects with a stinging right hook.

Shand sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Shand throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Bett lands a solid cross.  
Shand pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a sharp jab.  
Shand tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Bett is on target with a right hook to Shand's ribs.  
Bett backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Shand accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Bett.  
Shand sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a right hook.

Bett steps inside.  Shand pivots to the right of his opponent, but Bett hits home with a sharp left hook.
