Acastus Maras vs Brygus Karalis

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 04/04/2025 from Athens, Greece:

The Athens venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Acastus Maras (14 - 12) who hails from Heraklion, Greece and Brygus Karalis(4 - 3) from Athens, Greece.  

Round 1: 

Maras drives a sharp jab into his opponents face.  
Maras switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Maras lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Maras throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Karalis advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.

Maras drives a right hook into Karalis's body.  Karalis ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Maras pushes his forearm into Karalis's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Maras about fouling.

Maras steps to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Karalis is looking to close the distance and forces Maras to retreat into the corner.  Karalis throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Karalis ties up his opponent.  Karalis leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.
