Dave Catto vs Mark Bridgeforth

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2025,  taking place on 11/04/2025 from Auckland, New Zealand:

The Auckland venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Dave Catto (29 - 16) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Mark Bridgeforth(4 - 4) from Manukau, New Zealand.

Catto tries to land a jab, but Bridgeforth slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Catto lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Catto tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Bridgeforth manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Bridgeforth sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Catto is on target with a jab.  
Bridgeforth throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Bridgeforth digs in a left hook to Catto's body.  
Catto feints a jab, and then is on target with a stinging left uppercut.  
Bridgeforth closes the distance.  Catto lands a right hook.  
Bridgeforth attempts to land a cross, but Catto sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Catto's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
