John Messer vs Robert Brodie

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2025,  taking place on 11/04/2025 from Auckland, New Zealand:

The Auckland venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are John Messer (6 - 8) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Robert Brodie(31 - 18) from Manukau, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Brodie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Messer steps to the outside.  Brodie connects with a cross.  
Brodie forces Messer to back into the red corner.  Messer throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Brodie time to recover.
