Angel Cubero vs Jose Oviedo

Boxing Daily Report from the Peru National Finals 2025,  taking place on 14/04/2025 from Huacho, Peru:

The Huacho venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Angel Cubero (12(1) - 18) who hails from Arequipa, Peru and Jose Oviedo(23(1) - 11) from Lima, Peru.  

Round 1: 

Oviedo drives a left uppercut into Cubero's body.

Oviedo gets on the inside and manouvers Cubero onto the ropes.  Oviedo pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a left hook into his opponents body.  
Oviedo is on target with a left hook to Cubero's liver.  
Oviedo lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Oviedo is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Oviedo steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cubero switches the action to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Oviedo manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Cubero lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Oviedo gets on the inside.  Oviedo pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Oviedo lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Oviedo pivots from in front of his opponent, but Cubero connects with a sharp right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Oviedo's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
