Shaun Shinganga vs Peabo Muunda

Boxing Daily Report from the Zambia National Finals 2025,  taking place on 26/04/2025 from Lusaka, Zambia:

The Lusaka venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Shaun Shinganga (20 - 19) who hails from Lusaka, Zambia and Peabo Muunda(8 - 12) from Ndola, Zambia.  

Round 1: 

Shinganga steps to the outside.  Muunda finds the target with a jab.  
Muunda pivots to the right of his opponent, but Shinganga is on target with a jab.  
Shinganga drives a stinging jab into his opponents face.  
Shinganga lands with a stiff jab.  
Shinganga lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Shinganga quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Shinganga switches the action to the outside.  Muunda finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Muunda steps inside.  Muunda sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Shinganga connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Shinganga steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Muunda gets on the inside and walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Muunda digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Muunda quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Shinganga connects with a solid right hook.  
Shinganga lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Muunda closes the distance and tries to land a left hook, but Shinganga sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Shinganga is looking to keep his distance.  Shinganga feints a cross, and then is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Shinganga is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Shinganga feints a right, and then lands a stiff jab.  
Shinganga throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Muunda's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Muunda is on target with a stinging left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Shinganga's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.

Shinganga is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Shinganga drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Muunda lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Muunda drives a stinging left hook into Shinganga's liver.  
Muunda gets on the inside and attempts to land a left hook, but Shinganga slips the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Muunda manages to force Shinganga into a corner.  Muunda throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.
