Khuu Dungh vs Mach Ngai

Boxing Daily Report from the Vietnam National Finals 2025,  taking place on 29/04/2025 from Can Tho, Vietnam:

The Can Tho venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Khuu Dungh (3 - 1) who hails from Hanoi, Vietnam and Mach Ngai(37(1) - 18) from Hanoi, Vietnam.  

Round 1: 

Dungh steps to the outside.  Dungh feints a cross, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Ngai advances into close range and forces Dungh to back into the ropes.  Ngai sidesteps to the right of his opponent and throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Dungh's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Ngai sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Dungh is on target with a left uppercut.  
Dungh lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Dungh steps away from his opponent.  Ngai throws an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Ngai digs in a solid left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Dungh digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Ngai drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Dungh steps to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ngai connects with a left uppercut.  
Ngai gets on the inside and is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents body.  
Dungh tries to land a left uppercut, but Ngai sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Ngai digs in a sharp left hook to Dungh's ribs.  
Ngai gets on the inside and manouvers Dungh into the corner.  Ngai lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.

Ngai closes the distance.  Ngai lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Ngai attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Dungh time to recover.  
Ngai drives a right hook into Dungh's body.  
Ngai closes the distance.  Dungh hits home with a left hook.  
Ngai is on target with a firm cross.  
Ngai gets on the inside and drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  Ngai holds on to his opponent.  Ngai pushes his forearm into Dungh's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Dungh lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Ngai clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Ngai pushes his forearm into Dungh's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Ngai.  
Ngai walks Dungh into the corner.  Ngai lands a left hook.  
Dungh is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Ngai finds the target with a stiff jab.  
Ngai lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Ngai forces Dungh to retreat into the corner.  Ngai lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Ngai clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Dungh pushes his forearm into Ngai's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Dungh about fouling.  
Ngai quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Dungh lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Dungh steps to the outside.  Dungh contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Ngai tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Ngai gets on the inside.  Ngai quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a weighty left uppercut to Dungh's liver.  DUNGH IS HURT!  Dungh almost instantly recovers. 
Ngai advances into close range and digs in a right uppercut to Dungh's body.  
Ngai closes the distance and manages to force Dungh onto the ropes.  Ngai hits home with a firm left hook.

Ngai whips in a spiteful right uppercut to Dungh's body.  DUNGH WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Dungh could be stopped here, if Ngai can find the right shot!  Ngai lands a cross to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  Dungh now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Ngai drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Ngai advances into close range.  Dungh throws a right hook, but Ngai holds on to his opponent.  Dungh leans on his opponent using all his weight. Ngai uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Dungh behind the head. 
Ngai advances into close range and hits home with a stinging right uppercut.  
Ngai steps inside.  Dungh throws a left hook, but Ngai clinches his opponent.  Ngai uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Dungh behind the head. Dungh throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ngai advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.
