Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 07/12/2025 from Jersey City, USA:

The Jersey City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Michael Meaney (6 - 4) who hails from Worcester, USA and Valerio Barzagli(2 - 10) from Jersey City, USA.  

Round 1: 

Meaney drives a solid jab into his opponents face.  
Barzagli steps inside.  Barzagli pivots to the left of his opponent, but Meaney lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Meaney tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a stinging jab.  Meaney tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Barzagli is looking to close the distance.  Meaney tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Meaney snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.  
Barzagli quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Meaney lands a jab.  
Barzagli feints a right hook, and then is on target with a jab.  
Meaney lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Meaney lands a jab.  
Meaney switches the action to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Meaney steps to the outside and lands a cross.

Meaney tries to step out of his opponents range and throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Barzagli's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Meaney feints a right hook, but Barzagli does not fall for it and responds with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Barzagli is looking to keep his distance.  Meaney lands a cross.  
Meaney connects with a right hook.  
Barzagli steps away from his opponent.  Meaney lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Meaney is looking to keep the action on the outside and finds the target with a ramrod jab.
