Syed Faris vs Zachary Monahan

Boxing Daily Report from the Australia National Finals 2026,  taking place on 14/03/2026 from Perth, Australia:

The Perth venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Syed Faris (7(1) - 12) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and Zachary Monahan(37(2) - 22) from Sydney, Australia.  

Round 1: 

Faris is looking to keep his distance and is on target with an overhand left.

Faris goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Monahan's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Faris steps to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Monahan steps inside.  Faris lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.

Monahan steps away from his opponent.  Faris tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right hook.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Faris's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!  Monahan's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
